People behind Nifty after Fifty

Sheldon S. Zinberg, MD
Chairman and President

As the author of a highly praised book on aging, “Win in the Second Half” – and recently published as a second edition titled “Nifty after Fifty,” Dr. Zinberg is an expert on fitness and disease management in the boomer/senior demographic and the inspiration behind Nifty after Fifty. Dr. Zinberg received an MD degree from the University of California, Irvine College of Medicine. Shortly thereafter, he completed a three-year residency in Internal Medicine followed by a three year Clinical Research Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Los Angeles County Hospital. While in private practice, Dr. Zinberg served as a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California Irvine, College of Medicine and also at the COMP division of the Western University of Health Sciences. Respected by his colleagues, he also had the opportunity to serve as president of several prestigious organizations (The Alumni Association of UCI College of Medicine, The Orange County Society of Gastroenterology, and The UCI Gastroenterology Alumni Association etc).

In 1993, capitalizing on the experience gained in 35 years of academic and clinical medicine, Dr. Zinberg founded CareMore Medical Group. He built CareMore into a profitable provider of health care services to over 100,000 patients, twenty percent of which were seniors. Under Dr. Zinberg’s guidance, CareMore developed innovative programs targeted at helping seniors to become more independent and less susceptible to illness and injury.

As the founder of Nifty after Fifty (The Most Effective Centers for Wellness and Lasting Independence), Dr. Zinberg has continued to publish his views on improving delivery systems for the healthcare industry.
